Inspired for World Card Making Day

This is one of the cards we will make at my World Card Making Day event on Saturday, October 4.  I used the "Inspired by Nature" stamp set, certainly celery and elegant eggplant cardstock. The inspiration for this card came from one of the projects on the Art for the Heart CD - one of the perks of being a demonstrator is having all these resources available to me. Fall Blooms

I am so glad I picked up the "Art for the Heart" CD at convention. It is FULL of project ideas. This card is one of them. It became part of a card class recently. Everyone enjoyed making it. It is definitely fall here now... I will have to rake leaves pretty soon - already... This card really reflect the sense of fall.

Big Shot fun...

 Last night and this morning, I was able to borrow a Big Shot from another demonstrator. What fun!! So many things you can do with this machine. We played with it a bit at the technique class also. I made this card using the "Top Note" die, which is a Stampin' Up! exclusive die. The Designer paper is the new Bella Rose. I made the flower with the "Birds and Blooms" Sizzlits die, another Stampin' Up! exclusive. I didn't come up with this design but copied a similar one I saw on SCS.
I have cut several pieces of cardstock in anticipation of making more projects. So come back later for more.

Split Negative

 This is a fun technique that we will work on at my technique class on Wednesday, September 17 at 9:00 am and Friday, September 19 at 7:00 pm. We will also make a card using the spotlighting technique. Wondering what that is? Invite a friend to join you and register for the class....

This card could be used for Christmas or whatever you want. I have left out the sentiment on purpose so I can add it depending on the card I need at the time. I used the sketch #191 on splitcoaststampers.

Small Touches....

 I tend to make "simple" cards - sometimes too simple. However, the items we made at convention had lots of little details that really make a difference. Did you notice on this card the torn card stock, the rhinestone brad, the rounded corners, and a touch of ribbon. They all add up to make the card more beautiful.

Are you wondering how we made the panel? We used the Floral Frenzy Classy Brass template that matches the "Eastern Blooms" stamp set. Using the light table, we embossed the flowers and then lightly brayered the tangerine tango. We added the little dots with a white gel pen.

I love that Stampin' Up! coordinates products - stamp set with Classy Brass template. Often the Designer Papers and the Simply Scrappin' kits coordinate with a stamp set as well. It makes it so easy...

Home Decor

Wendy and her daughter have been renovating their bathroom. She applied the Organic Outlines Decor Elements to the walls and sent me a photo - which doesn't do it justice.... Wendy said, "I think they look really good and it was easy as pie." I agreed with Wendy, Decor Elements are very easy to apply.

Decor Elements are removable (not re-usable) which makes them a great choice for people who are not allowed to put holes in the walls, such as students in residence or sometimes renters. And, with an expanded selection, including some new colours, coming October 1, who can resist!!
