Sweet Pea Bird

This is a fast and easy card - one of the samples we will be making at the Spring Fling Stamp Camp. All the samples will be based from the Sweet Pea Designer Series paper. This card also uses the two-step bird punch.

We will make 12 cards and box to hold them. The cards will be all occasions and in some cases you will be able to choose the greeting.

Forest Friends Reflected

I followed Michelle Zindorf's instructions to make this card - mostly.  She has a lot of talent for putting to paper what you see around you. I am now finding myself looking at sunsets in a bit of a different manner... so what colours are really at play here? How would that translate onto paper?

Quite a number of stamping techniques are used on this project. Would you like to have hands-on instruction and you live in the Prince George area?

Valentine Card Idea

Lots of texture on this card! You can't see too well in the photo, but the big red heart is covered with micro beads from the red bed duo from Stampin' Up!

The sentiment and little flower come from the stamp set "With All My Heart."

With All My Heart

Besides the cute basket shown in the last post, this is one of the cards we will be making on February 9.

You don't want Valentine's day to be an ordinary day. Why not show your friends and co-workers that you appreciate them in a special way. And what better way to do that than to give them a hand-made something...

Basket and Bird

Just imagine putting some chocolate in this cute little basket and leaving it at your co-worker's desk... I bet that would make her day.

I used the "Basket and Blooms" die, the "Birds and Blooms" sizzlits and "Little Leaves" sizzlit. All these dies are exclusive to Stampin' Up! and make a very cute project.

Double the Fun

One stamped image, two cards - how fun is that! I found this technique in the Scrap & Stamp Arts magazine and I will be sharing it with you in the Thank you cards class on Monday, January 18.

I have to tell you though, it uses an iron. Can you still find yours? or is it like mine was before I started playing with this technique, tucked away somewhere...

Delightful Dates: 2010 Calendar class

The Delightful Dates Calendar from the Holiday Mini Catalogue makes a perfect gift or you can keep it for yourself and enjoy it all year long. The included easel makes it easy to display on your desk.

During the class we will decorate the calendar using the Notes to Self stamp set (also in the Holiday Mini) and various inks. We will also give a beautiful finish to the chipboard easel.

A Razzle Berry Christmas

I am quite enjoying playing with the Berry Christmas stamp set. It has so many images that it is quite versatile.

Small Gift Wrap

I CASEd this card from Mary Ashby. Soft suede and rich razzleberry combine well for Christmas colours. The Dasher stamp can be purchased by itself to make great cards.

I like the simplicity of this card. It was one we made tonight at the Christmas Cards class. There is another Christmas Cards class coming up on Thursday, December 3 at 7:00 pm.

Advent Calendar

An Advent calendar is a special calendar which is used to count or celebrate the days of Advent in anticipation of  Christmas.

This particular calendar was designed by Susan Paterson and shared with us at a Manager's meeting. You can include treats and/or Bible verses relating the events around the birth of Christ in each "sweet treats cup." The whole family can be involved each day as you prepare for Christmas. It can be a family bonding activity.

Do you have a calendar you can use? If not, why not come to the class on Thursday, November 19. The cost is only $35 for a calendar you can use year after year and all supplies are included.

I thought I would share with you another card made with Delightful Decorations stamp set. We made this card on World Card Making FUN Day.

We made this one using the Christmas Cocoa Specialty paper in the Holiday Mini Catalogue (p. 21). I love the shimmer on this paper. We also added Frost White Shimmer Paint (p. 27) on the "Joy" ornament after it was stamped with Old Olive Classic ink.

Animal Stories Anniversary

If you are in Prince George this week end, drop by my table in the Pine Centre Mall. I will be close to Zellers. Check out the sale on class registration fees (except the World Card Making FUN Day).

Ooooppss... this card was intended for my son and daughter-in-law's anniversary, but it never got to them -it's still in my stash :(

I usually try to stick to one maybe two stamp sets on each card. But I loved the card that Kriss Huels had made so I had to make my own.

To make the moon, I punched a 1-3/8" circle in a scrap piece of paper. I place the hole where I wanted it on my card. Then I sponged Crushed Curry until I was satisfied with the results.

The branch comes from the Cheep Talk stamp set. I used Old Olive and Soft Suede markers directly on the rubber. Then huffed to re-moisten it and stamped my image.

I stamped the owl from Animal Stories stamp set in Crushed Curry and Night of Navy on scrap pieces of Whisper White card stock. Then I cut them out and popped them up with dimensionals. the whole panel is popped up on dimensionals as well.

The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. I love that stamp set! 24 different greetings - one for every occasion you can think of.

Inspired Ghosting

Ghosting on vellum is a lot of fun! Stampin' Mama (Erika Martin)featured a card using this technique recently and that inspired me to try it again using a different colour scheme.

For this technique, you brayer Classic ink onto vellum. Then you "stamp" an un-inked rubber stamp - in this case, the flowers from Inspired by Nature. It will pull off some of the colour that has been brayered. Let the panel dry and then mounted it on Whisper White card stock to make the image pop.

To practice this technique and learn many more, you may want to consider joining the club.
