Step by Step Directions

1. Using direct to paper method drag Crumb Cake Classic Ink on paper to texturize, and ink the edges.
2. Cut Early Espresso Card Stock to 7.5 x 10 and attach to cardstock with SNAIL.
3. Cut a 3 x 12 strip of Designer Series Paper, and then run Cherry Cobbler piece through Big Shot with Tasteful Trim die to create scallop edge.  Attach scallop edge to back of patterned paper with SNAIL, and then attach entire panel to page.
4. Run Early Espresso ribbon along seem between trim and patterned paper, attach with SNAIL and trim off edges.
5. Cut letters for title - JOY - out of Early Espresso using the Big Shot and the Serif Essentials Alphabet.  Attach to page base. 
6. Top off letter O with a bow out of Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding and a Basic Pearl.

Autumn Spice

Where have I been you ask? Behind a floor sander and lamb's wool mop... We refinished the hardwood floor on the main floor of our new house. What a job!!! but oh so worth it now that it is all done... it's beautiful.

Island Oasis: Summer Scrapbook Page

September is almost here...which means there's only a few days left to order from the Summer Mini Catalog.

A lot of the products in this mini catalog are gone after August 31^st, so take a look and make sure there's not something on your wish list that you'd be missing out on.

This scrapbook page features two great products from the Summer Mini catalog: Island Oasis Designer Series Paper (117173) and Island Floral Bigz Die (118871), along with lots of Big Shot elements!

Step by Step Directions

1. Cut four Scallop Squares from Old Olive cardstock.
2. Cut out flower using Big Shot, using Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron and Rose Red card stock to create flowers. Layer together and fasten together using a Pumpkin Pie Floral Brad.
3. Cut letters for title – Summer – out of Rose Red using the Alphabet Simple Dies.
4. Cut a 2 inch strip of umbrella patterned paper, and a ½ inch strip of pumpkin pie polkadot designer series paper. Attach both to 12x12 So Saffron cardstock as shown.
5. Attach title on top of strip of Designer Series Paper using SNAIL.
6. Attach Scallop Squares as shown using SNAIL.
7. Using Stampin' Dimensionals attach flower to lower right hand corner of page.

This is a very versatile layout that you can easily use, and it is a great way to economize on your Designer Series Paper!

The Big Shot lets you cut letters out of not only cardstock, but chipboard, cork or other materials to create unique scrapbook pages, and you'll never be stuck without the right letters again!

Summer Scrapbook Page

 

If you are anything like me, you take more photos during the summer, meaning you have that much more to scrapbook! It's easy to stay on top of your scrapbook pages with the new Designer Series paper and coordinating Quick Accents - love those... they are so quick and easy to use!

Here's a 6x6 page created using Playdate Designer Series Paper (117168) and Playdate Quick Accents (117172) and a bit of Tempting Turquoise cardstock. 6x6 pages are a fun format to work with as albums are available in this size, or you can easily add them to a 12x12. They are definitely simpler than larger pages as there's that much less space to work with! This page would look cute layered on a 12 x 12 piece of Real Red, So Saffron or Old Olive, and then just add a photo above the border accent and you are all set!

To create this page:

1. Cut Tempting Turquoise cardstock to 6x6.
2. Cut dotted Designer Series Paper from Playdate package to 5.75 x 5.75 and attach with SNAIL.
3. Add star border accent from package at about 1.5 inches from the bottom and trim at edge.
4. Working from right hand side, add letters to spell out summer.
5. Add star accents to the left of your title.

Island Floral on a Scrapbook Page

Tip: Get Summer Memories Organized

During the summer, you are probably going to be looking for craft projects to keep your kids busy on the stinking hot (or rainy!) days.

A great project for the beginning of July is to get organized so you can quickly and easily document summer memories as you go!

Why not take the time to create a mini scrapbook with your kid(s) so they can add pictures and record memories this summer. Memories at the Lake

Peacefull Love

Lately I have been making mostly cards. However, when I received this photo I knew I HAD to scrap it. It was taken about 12 hours after Luke's birth.
I thought the colours in the "green tea" designer series paper (retired unfortunately) would work really well.
I run a piece of certainly celery paper through the Big Shot machine with the Stampin' Up! Backgrounds I texturz plate. It adds texture to the page, still keeping it soft.

Bella Rose and other new papers

We visited our grandchildren and their families not too long ago and of course took pictures. It is fun to put them into a scrapbook when we get home. I really wanted to highlight this photo of the two girls seemingly in deep conversation - so precious. It was a hot day and it wasn't long before the sprinklers beckoned... so much fun. I recorded the events of the day in the journaling section so I wouldn't forget the details. I used the new Bella Rose designer paper, riding hood red, pink pirouette and chocolate chip cardstock. The chipboard letter came from the simon upper set. By the way, I didn't have a C left, so I used the G and just cut off part of it. If you are missing a letter, think of another one you could transform. Choose some photos you have taken this summer and scrapbook it today - have fun!!
